QR menu and table ordering

Guests scan their table’s code, browse the menu with current prices, and send their order — no app to install and no waiting for a waiter.

How does it work? Every table in your restaurant has its own QR code. A guest scans it with the phone camera, the menu opens in the browser, they pick items and options and send. The order lands on the “incoming orders” screen of the POS, tied to their table, and goes on to the kitchen.

The menu comes from the system itself

There is no separate menu to update by hand. Items, prices, options and photos are the same ones in your POS. Change a price or mark an item “unavailable” and the guest sees it the same moment. You can assign a different price list to QR orders if you wish.

You decide how orders are accepted

ModeWhen it fits
ManualThe safe start: the cashier sees and approves each order before it reaches the kitchen.
Automatic for open tablesThe guest is seated with an open bill; their additional orders pass straight through.
Always automaticSelf-service venues that trust their flow.

Controls that stop misuse

  • A cap on the value of a single order.
  • Accepting hours you define; outside them no orders are taken.
  • Pause one table’s code.
  • Regenerate a code: an old one was photographed and shared? Rotate it and the old one stops at once.

What the restaurant gains

Add-on orders that do not wait for a waiter to pass, fewer mistakes because guests choose for themselves, and waiters free to serve rather than write. At rush hour the pressure eases across the whole floor.

The QR menu is part of Sahl’s restaurant and café system, at no extra charge.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests need to install an app?

No. They scan the code with their phone camera and the menu opens in the browser.

Can someone order from outside the restaurant?

The code is tied to a table, and you can set accepting hours, a cap per order and manual approval, and regenerate the code at any time so the old one stops working.

Do guests pay from their phone?

The order is sent from the phone; payment happens at the till or with the waiter as usual, so the whole bill stays in the POS.
